The Case for the Biblical Liberation
of the Gay Individual—
Verifiable Facts of the Bible.
▪ A theocratic government of the
land of Israel: This involved an
extensive code of laws for God’s people in the ancient world—complete
with the “death penalty” and the word “abomination”
attached to laws, which are obsolete in
the Christian faith today. This
change was quite a departure for believers from the old covenant, and shocking
to those who were under the Law.
▪ All references to male-male sexual
behavior were regarding rebellion, violence, temple prostitution, and idolatry—thus,
the forbidding in the Law any association of God’s people with these
pagan practices of the nations before them. This is not the same issue that we are
speaking about today.
▪ God established a “new
covenant” with His people, where His law would be written on the hearts
and minds, and known intuitively by them.
The code of the Mosaic Law, containing hundreds of laws, is not found
written on the heart that I am aware of.
The New Testament explicitly states that believers in Jesus Christ are
not under this body of laws, and that “love” is the entirety of the
law.
▪ The absence of any condemnation of
marriage arrangements that are not defined as “one man and one
woman,” and nothing other than the presence of parameters given by God for these marriages, as they were not to go
outside of their tribe, though the tradition-based church prefers to represent
the Bible otherwise.
▪ Paul’s description of
idolaters and those who denied God, of whom he was speaking when he gave a
reference to the concept of same-sex relations, and which was from his
awareness and experience. He was
addressing spiritual rebellion against God, and he spoke of people who were in
rebellion against God. This context
simply does not inherently describe the gay individual who loves God, or their
relationships.
▪ Though not verified in Scripture,
this is a biological reality for some people, that they were created and born
with a homosexual orientation from birth.
Though some individuals prefer to deny its reality, there is abundant
evidence to this effect. It is,
therefore, not an issue of rebellion
by nature.
▪ The notable reality that
Scriptural laws and statements are
difficult upon heterosexuals as well—though the specific words of
Jesus regarding divorce, and remarriage after divorce outside of
specified parameters being called “adultery,” are not accepted in
the same rigid manner which they impose upon the gay believer to understand the
Scriptures. This is a double
standard, and it is hypocrisy.
▪ Jesus taught “reason”
in the use of laws, as opposed to a rigid and non-discerning use of law, which
condemns “the innocent.”
He taught the principle of the spirit vs. the letter of the law. He taught that we are to be very careful
in how we judge people, and that we are not to judge according to appearance.
▪ The absence of any reference to
gender-based laws or condemnations in the Ten Commandments, the teachings of
Jesus, or the Book of Revelation, leaving only a highly context-based reference
to the issue…and the principles of the new covenant, which includes
reason, discernment, and liberty.
▪ It is explicitly stated that
love, in its truest form, is the entirety of the law of God.
God, in His
wisdom and in His Word, established the predominance of heterosexuality in
societies. He also established liberty in His Word, and a cause to view
this issue with discernment and reason, and prolifically at that. This is the Bible that God has given to
humanity. God loves all of His children
equally.

Homosexuality—the Truth
PDF eBook: 11 Chapters / 71 pages.
This ebook is a perspective on the
under-spoken-of “new covenant” in the
Bible. It is a conservative, love-based
view of sexual relationships. It is an
examination of what was written in Scripture—as it is written, no distortions
needed. It is accepting of gay men and
women and life-partnerships, which many people of good conscience believe the
Lord would have us do, based on the teachings of Scripture and the
realities of the issue.
